#Company Email Policy
Before we start the tutorial in using BWSI webmail, here are a few reminders and policy on using your company email. Please read this reminders and guides carefully:
- Though it may seem obvious, the use of a business email address is for business only. Avoid using your business email address to register on websites or services that is not business related.
- Along the lines of “business email is for business use,” the management will make it clear that all company email is company's property. That is, any email that is sent, received, created, or stored on a company's computer system may be viewed and even admissible in a legal case.
- Let us all be suspicious and be aware on unusual emails. Don't open any attachments from an unknown or suspicious senders, verify authenticity from the sender if needed. Even though our mail servers are very much capable of scanning email attachments from potential threats and viruses, there are cases of most advance threats/viruses that even the most of the knowned antivirus can't detect. Reporting this kind of emails to CBIT Department will help our servers and networks to be more secured.
- Be knowledgeable on email phishing. Phishing and, more specifically, spear phishing emails are common cyberattacks on small and medium businesses. Phishing refers to emails that appear to come from a legitimate source but are scams designed to steal private, sensitive information. Please report phishing emails to CBIT Department.
- SPAM or Email spam, also known as junk email, refers to unsolicited email messages, usually sent in bulk to a large list of recipients. Spam can be sent by real humans, but more often, it is sent by a bot. Most of the times these are unwanted emails that clutters your mailbox. Although most the spam emails have unsubscribe or de-list functions, you can report spam emails to CBIT Department for proper blacklisting.
If you have read and understand policy and guidelines in using our company business email, you can now start with the tutorial.
